Abstract |
Cellulose is an important natural polymer, produced from a variety of sources, in particular by plants, which are major components of agro-industrial residues. The comprehension of the celluloses structural composition is of critical importance for the understanding of conversion synthetic routes on the produced materials, such as cellulose acetate, carboxymethylcellulose and cellulose dialdehyde. In this work, a general survey of works related to cellulose conversion is shown, along with structural aspects, transformations and application for derived materials. The derived material applications were focused on residual biomass, enhancing the presented processes sustainability and exemplifying applications related to circular economy. |
