| Abstract |
The paper highlights some of the results of a questionnaire-based survey conducted by authors in 173 Romanian small and medium enterprises, in 2012-2013. The main objective of this paper was to analyze the effects of small and medium enterprises involvement in social responsibility actions on business performance. The paper starts with some approaches regarding the concept of social responsibility and also presents the concept as a tool to increase small and medium enterprises competitiveness. The results of our research have shown that small and medium enterprises are not using performance indicators related to social responsibility and do not realize the positive effects that it can have on business performance. Also, the statistical analysis revealed the involvement of small and medium enterprises in social responsibility actions has positive effects on business performance. |
