Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to examine the non-perishable product food supply chain performance under a monopolistic environment. A system dynamics approach was used to study the behavior and relationships within a supply chain for a non-perishable product, and to determine the impact of demand variability and lead-time on supply chain performance. The proposed model facilitates identification and study of the critical components of the overall supply chain, allowing for the creation of an efficient and sustainable supply chain network. The modeling also provides a tool to generate multiple business situations for effective strategic planning and business decision-making. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. |
