Abstract |
Industrial estate firms in Indonesia play a vital role in attracting domestic and foreign investors. Their economic contributions and employment creation are influenced by various Government of Indonesia regulations and policies. Based on the voluntary the Indonesia Industrial Estate Firm Award(s) in 2013 and 2015, initiated by Ministry of Industry, 13 firms in 2013 and 15 firms in 2015 expressed their strategy into mission, vision, strategy, business plan and business orientation. None of these firms used strategy map as a model to conceptually and visually explain how they would achieve their strategic objectives. Strategy map is a causal model of business strategy. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to propose a strategy map model for industrial estate firms in Indonesia. The model building process is conducted using a mixed of deductive and inductive approach, using literature and the Indonesia related regulations. The proposed causal strategy map model consists of four major components, namely inputs, processes, outputs, and outcome. Inputs consist of resources or capitals, processes are value creating and revitalization activities, outputs are represented by sustainable development goals, and outcome is measured by business sustainability. The proposed strategy map model stand for four major criteria of good theory or model, such as parsimony, internal consistency, generalizability, and utility. The proposed model can function as a complement of the existing manual for the Indonesia Industrial Estate Award. |
