Abstract This article attempts to examine the entrepreneurial behaviors of Haitian migrants legally residing in the French Overseas Territories in America (TOMFA), through a random sample survey of a sample of 220 of between them. The main results obtained statistically and using a microeconometric model show that the majority of these migrants express their intention to start a business in TOMFA, more in the long term than in the short term. They reveal certain economic and socio-cultural behaviors which constitute mental blocks. Overall, they make it possible to understand how the sustainable socio-economic development of Haitian migrants in TOMFA must pass through the "social transactions" of the migrant with the host territory and the country of origin.
