Abstract Since Environmental Sound and Sustainable Development announced in 1992, low carbon and/or green economy has been gradually expanded in the world. South Korea government announced low carbon green growth as a nation strategy on August 15, 2008 in line with the expansion of climate change discussion in the world. Various Korean industries have integrated environmental issues into their corporate strategies in response to external business atmosphere such as the gradual expansion of new Environmental Sound and Sustainable Development paradigms, climate change issues, and the introduction of the nation's low carbon green growth vision. The Korean construction industry has also tried to introduce and drive strategic environment management. The paper strives to analyze strategic environmental management types within the Korean construction industry, evaluating the strategic stages of Korean construction Industries based on Hunt and Auster's model. Its scope is limited to 99 Korean construction sectors that have a high sensitivity to the environment. To categorize the stage of environmental management, this paper carried out a full content analysis. Then, cluster analysis was utilized to understand the strategy type of environmental management.
