Abstract |
Digital transformation is the most consistent topic during business meetings at a high level nowadays. Every organization aspired to the new digital world needs to answer three main questions: 1) What kind of internal changes should to be undertaken in order to take advantage of the digital cloud based environment; 2) How they leverage the massive amount of data in their work; 3) How they use this new world for innovation. Once they have found the right path for themselves organizations realize that during the 4-th industrial revolution the implementation of a new technology is no longer the obstacle to develop but the people in the organization who don't want to question everything and are not ready for a change. Hence, the toughest question to answer is how to create a digital culture. Here, we see the new role of the universities and business schools, who need to get out of their comfort zone of conservatism and build up new trusty relationships with all stakeholders involved within the education process. Because the digital transformation has changed completely the nature of the relationships with the customer, it is 24/7 like it or not thanks to the new connectivity, the numerous opportunities to choose the eco system you want to belong, etc. The current eco system of developing sustainable business is affected massively by this revolutionary shift and is changing the enterprise landscape for good. As a result of awareness of the necessary changes, some organizations will thrive, others will disappear. |
