Abstract A massive volume of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has become a serious threat to the environment and human health in many countries. Since IT and telecommunication equipment are the dominant sources of WEEE, more attention should be directed to the PC industry in addressing this issue. However, scholars and business practitioners have encountered the difficulty of integrating social ecological responsibilities and business sustainability. From the perspectives of business model innovation and corporate social responsibilities, we conducted a case study of Dell's business model innovation in computer after-sales service in China, analyzing how Dell created an effective and sustainable green business model (GBM) in its after-sales service that increases customer satisfaction, reduces WEEE, and enhances firm value. This research offers a valuable prototype and practical innovation path of green business model.
