Abstract Integrating sustainability as a core function is the most challenging task for business organizations. Organizations are forced to rethink, redesign, and redevelop their existing system from green practices to achieve sustainable development. In the transitional attempts, more emphasis has been given to economic and environmental dimensions, but the social aspect is usually overlooked. This study targets to examine how organizations could induce social sustainability (SS) within the system through a comprehensive literature review and underlying hypothesis. The structural equation modeling (SEM) approach has been applied in building a socially sustainable model for the business organization. The data was collected and analyzed using multivariate statistical analyses such as exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Exploratory factor analysis categorized SS factors into five major dimensions: job characteristics, occupational health and safety, consumer protection, community interrelations, and stakeholder engagement. The structure has been analyzed through confirmatory factor analysis, and the model's fit indices proved the index's measurement structure. Furthermore, twenty-five reliable factors for measuring the SS of an organization have been short-listed and conducted the validity tests. The proposed model, along with the factors can be suitably used for the SS assessment, and adoption by different organizations in this business world.
