Abstract In recent years, the economy of the central and western regions has grown rapidly, but the problem of ecological and environmental protection is becoming more and more serious. The influencing factors of the coordinated development of economic growth and ecological environment protection in the central and western regions are: slow social and economic development, backward economy, unreasonable industrial structure and very fragile ecological environment. Serious poverty and poor ecological environment in the central and western regions also restrict the coordination of economic development and environmental protection in the western region. This paper puts forward the ecological transformation method of industrial structure from the perspective of ecological environmental protection. At the same time, this paper puts forward the viewpoint of building a characteristic technical support mechanism to promote the development of circular economy and implement energy conservation and emission reduction. The results show that: improve the awareness of ecological protection and improve the reasonable performance of environmental finance and taxation policies, promote the coordinated development of economic growth and ecological environment protection in the western region. The results have certain reference value for the study of regional economic transformation in central and Western China from the perspective of ecological and environmental protection.
