Abstract Circulation-effective potential of wood in hall structures The linear economy of unbridled consumption of resources is to be replaced by the controlled use of resources in the sense of the circular economy and that within the planetary and social boundaries. For the global climate pest, the construction industry, building in a circular economy will mean a significant reduction in gray emissions and resource consumption in the medium term. Essential requirements for all new buildings and conversions, for adding storeys and renovating existing buildings are waste avoidance, re-use and flexibility of use. These cycle-effective measures can be implemented through elementing, standardization and reversibility of the components. We have no problem of knowledge. We have a politically and economically motivated implementation problem. The consequent circular-effective Bauwende" through the change in politics and economy is needed. The implementation succeeds on the basis of a new tectonics of design and construction. The goal must be re-use of elementary and standardized components without any loss of value. For this a reversible, form-fitting and force-fitting construction with the renewable carbon storage wood is particularly suitable and is illustrated in the present article using the example of a hall construction. Disruptive innovations and technologies through robotics, artificial intelligence and digital transformation serve as tools for implementation.
