Title Smart city: mapping research, projects, initiatives and groups in brazilian capitals
Year 2023
Published Revista Tecnologia E Sociedade, 19, 55
Abstract The present study aimed to highlight research, projects, initiatives and study groups on the subject of smart cities in Brazilian capitals. For this, a theoretical survey was carried out at Scopus (R), a mapping of existing projects and/or initiatives and a survey of groups, lines of research and educational institutions involved in the theme of smart cities in Brazil through the DGP/CNPq. Throughout the study, it was possible to appropriate the concept of smart cities; identify the most recent themes used in the development of research, who are the main universities that are involved in these studies and the relationship between researchers; it was also possible to highlight, among the capitals, those that have intelligent activities under development, demonstrating their partners in these actions and the projects planned and/or under development; and finally, the contribution of researchers and universities was evaluated, through the survey of research groups that have lines of study dedicated to understanding and contributing to the knowledge of the proposals for smart cities in Brazil. As a limitation of this research, it is noteworthy that the survey carried out on the topic smart city in Brazilian capitals was carried out exclusively on the internet, not addressing possible projects and initiatives that are not evidenced in this space. As suggestions for future research, it is indicated: a greater detailing of the main areas that are being developed in the smart city initiatives and the investigation of the implementation of the actions foreseen in the proposals elaborated by some cities.
