Abstract The Smart City Business Model Ecosystems (SCBMES) seems to be established and approached very differently from one Smart City to another on the Global Scene. Those Smart City terminologies we know of today seems to be very much focused on one fits all - but this may not open up for the real potentials and even several hidden potentials of the Smart City Concept. Smart Cities may be claimed to become one of the futures most important approaches to grow out society's economy - creating new types of valuable BMES. We show and argue however - in this paper - that the Smart City concept combined with the BMES approach may potentially result in even more valuable and sustainable outputs of Smart Cities. If we are able to "see" and "sense" - "act" and "do" - and value the Smart City BMES with interdisciplinary competences - the Smart Cities BMES around the global world might be able to release much more potential than initial expected. This demands however that we begin to bring people and Business really into "the concept of Smart Cities". Today - we claim on the basis of our research - that many SCBMES have not really brought the people and the businesses into the so-called Smart Cities - and this have left several Smart Cities and Smart City projects in deep challenge - even made them become "Ghost Cities" - which could be argued is not really "Smart" and "intelligent".
