| Abstract | This paper analyzes the concept of "by-product" in European and Spanish waste law. The first part summarises the legislative developments and the case-law of the European Court of Justice in this area. The second part studies the latest main regulatory developments on by-products where special attention is paid to the public intervention system provided for Law 7/2022. Finally, some of the regulatory deficiencies detected are highlighted. |
