Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review the agricultural and financial proposals presented in 2018 detecting their main specific and relevant drivers. The analysis also includes the changes introduced by the European Commission due to the pandemic crisis and the Communications on the European Green Deal, the Biodiversity towards 2030 and, in particular, the Strategy "Farm to Fork". As conclusion, the paper presents a list of critical points in order to outline possible pathways of the CAP reform process beyond the financial period 2021-2027.
