Abstract Although technology development allows many people material enjoyment, it exploits natural resources and causes heavy burden on the environment, and may lead to great calamity in the future. Regarding product development and use, the Environmental Directives of EU suggest "reducing, recycling and reusing" resources to enhance product use and recycling efficiency. The concept of sustainability will be national economic development and national life style in the future. Product service system (PSS) which responds to the concept of sustainability will reduce the carbon emission of enterprises in product development and increase resource use efficiency. Thus, there will be a close loop of green life cycle from product development, production and use to waste. This study is based on product service system and sustainable product design development. By literature review and expert interview, this study applied fuzzy logic in Grounded Theory to propose service and design development strategy of sustainable products. Since in technology development, technology products have become necessities in human beings' daily lives, this study treated design and development business concept of ASUS technology products as the case to validate the strategic model. In the case, this study argued that besides design, designers should probe into product use and operation, characteristics of materials and the problems encountered in different stages of production in order to improve defective rate of products in production. In addition, the sustainable product service and design development principles in product service system can be acquired in order to improve the effects and impact on environment in different stages of product life cycle, as well as to assist with and confirm the accomplishment of sustainable product design development.
